Your Anxiety Archetype

The Huntress:

You are determined and strong, with the energy and ability to conquer just about everything. But at what expense?

Your body tells you when you’ve reached your capacity to push through the stress in your life. How does it do this?

Through feelings of frustration, or feeling like you could cry at the drop of a hat.

When faced with stress or the ‘worst possible’ scenarios that pop into your mind, your tendency is to become restless & irritable. In moments of adversity, challenge, or confrontation you may be able to maintain a sense of equilibrium on the surface until it all builds up inside and becomes too much. Suddenly you find yourself on edge and agitated until you finally snap.

Tired of feeling on edge and at your whits-end all the time?  Imagine feeling a relaxed confidence as you move through your day.

You’ve come to the right place! The truth is that we can’t always stop the stressors in our lives from happening, but we can change the way we relate to them. Managing stress and overwhelm is not always about changing the circumstances of your life to feel more centered (although sometimes that’s needed). It’s also about transforming the way you respond internally to the challenges you face. This is where your power lies.

Solutions:

Practice being present. Build new habits. Create resilience.

When you notice yourself feeling irritable or ‘on edge’, check the facts on your thoughts for perceived threats or stressors in your environment. Get curious about what is at the root of how you feel, is it the facts or a situation or exaggeration?

Look for over-amplifying the stressor.  Our thoughts and beliefs about a situation can be a large part of what is triggering anxiety.  Remind yourself of your strengths and capabilities to handle stressors in a centered way.  Strengthen your inner coach.

Easier said than done, I know.  Be patient with yourself. Getting support from someone more experienced in this area to speed up progress can be helpful, to learn particular strategies that you can try and build consistency over time.  Learning to cope with stress and anxiety is a lifelong practice, and getting support along the way makes it much easier!

The sooner you start, the sooner you find relief and build mastery and confidence in your new skillset.

Are you ready to feel more confident and grounded?

My name is Katy Bandy LCSW and I work as a mental health therapist with 15+ years of experience treating anxiety.

I am also a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) - Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ as well as a Mindfulness Coach for Women!

I am passionate about helping women tackle stress and overwhelm, to feel more confident and build self-trust.  A big part of that is learning to play on your own team, and dropping the fight with yourself.
