Mindfulness for Real Life
Mindfulness for Real Life A 4-Part Live Series with Katy Bandy, LCSW, DBT-Linehan Board Certified
Wednesdays, June 24 – July 15 | 7 PM PDT via Zoom
We live in a world that rewards being busy, reactive, and constantly in our heads. Mindfulness offers something different - not an escape from real life, but a way of meeting it with clarity, steadiness, and wisdom.
This 4-part live series draws on the Core Mindfulness skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), one of the most evidence-based psychological frameworks in existence. These are practical, learnable skills - not just concepts - that you can begin using immediately in your daily life.
What we'll cover:
Part 1 — June 24: Introduction to Mindfulness & Finding Your Wise Mind Learn the foundations of mindfulness practice and discover Wise Mind - the calm, grounded inner wisdom that exists within all of us, accessible even in our most overwhelming moments.
Part 2 — July 1: What to Practice Explore the core mindfulness practices of observing, describing, and participating fully - skills that help you engage with your experience rather than be swept away by it.
Part 3 — July 8: How to Practice Deepen your practice with the how skills - non-judgment, one-mindfulness, and effectiveness. Learn to meet yourself and your life without criticism, distraction, or unnecessary struggle.
Part 4 — July 15: Integration — Lovingkindness & Interconnectedness Bring it all together through lovingkindness meditation and the practice of interconnectedness - cultivating compassion for yourself and others as the natural fruit of a mindful life.
This series is for you if:
- You feel overwhelmed, reactive, or stuck in your head.
- You've tried mindfulness before but couldn't make it stick (or you're brand new to it!).
- You want practical tools grounded in real psychological science.
- You're ready to meet your life with more steadiness and clarity.
This is an educational series, not therapy. No clinical experience required - just an open mind and a willingness to practice.
Your facilitator: Katy Bandy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and one of fewer than 1,000 clinicians worldwide to hold a Linehan Board Certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
